DROP-IN exchange is available at Marin AIDS Project MONDAY through FRIDAY from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Tuesday evenings until 7 p.m. This is a free service.
This Saturday, 3/01, Deer Island, Novato. A no hills hike, except for the island
of course, custom made for a leisurely hike. This is a flood water
management site so the trail is a little sloppy in parts but well
traveled. Very dog friendly but bring the leash. We will make our
way over the marsh area to Deer island, take a the loop around the island and
then return the way we came. So, if you are hill averse, this is the hike for
you!! We will meet at the parking lot of 100 Rowland Way, Novato.
(See google map next week) Plenty of parking and the trail head is
directly off the lot.
Next Saturday, 3/08, Ring Mountain Open Space. Nestled between the Marin County towns of Tiburon
and Corte Madera, the grassy slopes of Ring Mountain afford fantastic views of
Mount Tamalpais, the bay, and San Francisco. Trails wind through rock
formations, across tiny creeks, through wildflower-dotted hillsides, and under
old coast live oaks and California bays. Petroglyph Rock, near the preserve's
highest spot, has rock carvings created by Native Americans. Dogs are allowed
but must be on leash at all times.
you are interested in carpooling with someone send me a text and I will
coordinate for you. Please do not email as I am not in the office
frequently enough to ensure getting back to you in a timely fashion. Tom
you know, our goal for these hikes is to provide a friendly occasion to make
new friends and to get out and enjoy the great outdoors. We are the men
and women who make up the Marin AIDS Project community of support for people
living with HIV/AIDS. If you haven’t joined us yet maybe this is the one.
Here is an opportunity to get out and connect with like minded people who
are seeking a breath of fresh air.
