HIV/AIDS SERVICES

All our services are provided confidentially and free of charge to qualified Marin County residents.

Medical Case Management: In partnership with clients, case managers assess short and long-term needs and develop a care plan. They link clients with needed services including medical, dental, mental health, job training, employment and housing services, food and transportation and provide follow-up and support.

Benefits Advocacy: Benefits specialists assist clients in accessing and maintaining public and private financial, disability and healthcare benefits. They provide advocacy and technical assistance to help negotiate the intricacies of federal systems, insurance carriers, healthcare systems, employer issues, etc. and assist with legal documents, money management and credit and collection issues. (Click on the link above for more information about benefits advocacy)

Mental Health:
We offer individual and group counseling as well as psychiatric evaluation andmedication monitoring. Services are offered without fees to those with noinsurance and very low incomes. Others pay a very modest sliding scale fee.

Oral Health: Funding is available for dental care for people living with HIV/AIDS.

Emergency Financial Assistance: Limited assistance is available through a fund of last resort for expenses such as phone, utilities and emergency housing related to eviction or homelessness. Assistance is also available for qualified medical and pharmaceutical expenses, as well as eyeglasses. This fund is for those living with HIV/AIDS.

Transportation: MAP supplies transportation assistance including bus tickets to all clients. Volunteers provide rides to medical appointments and taxi service is available when other options are not feasible or appropriate.

Volunteer Services: Volunteers offer emotional support through a "buddy" program and assist clients with rides to medical appointments, grocery shopping, etc. Volunteers also provide client reception services and administrative support to assist our program staff.

Educational/Community Forums: Clients receive the latest information on a broad range of topics related to HIV/AIDS at luncheon and dinner forums held throughout the year.

Women's Services: MAP arranges various supportive activities for women to address their unique needs living with HIV/AIDS and/or Hepatitis C .

Internet Resources: A computer at MAP is available for clients to access the Internet for the latest HIV/AIDS information, housing information, etc.

Entertainment and Recreation: We link clients with free activities and programs in the community including tickets to plays, music and dance programs and sporting events.
