INCOME ASSISTANCE:

Unemployment - EDD provides unemployment insurance for people who have recently lost their job.

State Disability Insurance - EDD provides State Disability Insurance to people who are too sick to work.

Social Security Disability is available to those who are disabled and can no longer work.

General Assistance - through the County of Marin provides minimal financial assistance for people with no other means of support.

Li-Heap ~ The Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) is funded through the state of California. Call 800-433-4327. A one-time grant may be available to qualified low-income applicants. Applicants are required to apply for the grant. Process time is approximately six to eight weeks.

RENTAL ASSISTANCE

Community Action Marin 485-1489 Community Action Marin is a private non-profit 501(c)(3) social service agency serving and assisting low-income Marin residents in achieving a life of quality based on self-sufficiency. CAM can help with rental and PG&E assistance. 

Ritter Center 457-8182 Ritter Center helps the homeless and very low-income residents of Marin – stabilize their lives by offering a number of social services: case management; primary health care; emergency food  and clothing ; emergency financial assistance; showers, laundry, and restroom facilities; general delivery mail and voicemail. 

St. Vincent de Paul Society 454-3303 St. Vincent’s provides assistance to help very low income residents of Marin obtain nutritious food, affordable housing.

Meals of Marin 457-4666 Meals of Marin's mission is to provide nourishment, comfort, hope and dignity to home-bound people battling life-threatening illnesses in Marin County. We do this through the daily preparation and home-delivery of freshly cooked, healthy, appetizing meals.
